ID Card Printing in Warrington
We were asked to produce staff identification for a renewable energy company based in Warrington. The cards were needed quickly, as several engineers were due to travel abroad for work and had to carry proper identification for client sites. This kind of job is fairly typical for us, but the timescale and the technology involved made it one worth writing up.
The brief was straightforward on paper: fifteen CR80 credit card sized ID cards, printed on plastic NFC stock rather than standard PVC. The client had already put together some artwork of their own, but once we looked at it properly it wasn’t going to represent the business well enough. Logos were slightly off, spacing was inconsistent, and the colours didn’t quite match their existing brand materials. Rather than just print what we were given, we redesigned the cards from scratch while keeping the layout and content close to what they’d originally wanted.

Getting the brand right
Colour matching mattered a good deal on this one. A renewable energy company relies on consistent branding across everything it puts in front of clients, from vans to paperwork to the ID badges its engineers wear on arrival. We checked Pantone references against their existing materials before anything went to print, and made small adjustments to the artwork so the final cards sat comfortably alongside the rest of their branding. It’s a step that’s easy to skip when a deadline is tight, but it’s usually the difference between a card that looks right and one that looks almost right.
Adding NFC tracking
What made this job stand out was the NFC element. Rather than simply printing plastic cards, we built a basic NFC tracking system into each one, so the client could see where and when cards were being used across different sites. For a business sending engineers to various locations, often at short notice, this gave them a layer of oversight they didn’t have before. It’s not something every client needs, but for a renewables company managing staff across multiple sites, it made sense.

A tight turnaround
With engineers travelling abroad, there wasn’t much room to move on timing. We turned the full job around in two days, from final artwork approval through to print and NFC programming. That included printing, quality checking each card individually, and making sure the NFC chips were correctly encoded before anything left our workshop. ID card printing in Warrington isn’t always this time pressured, but when a deadline is genuinely tied to flights and site visits, there’s no option to let things slip.
Delivery across several locations
The first batch went straight to the client’s office in Warrington. From there, several of the remaining cards were sent directly to individual engineers rather than back through head office, since some were already en route to their assignments. Coordinating that meant a bit more planning on our end, but it meant nobody was left waiting on a card that should have reached them days earlier.

An ongoing relationship
Since this first order, the client has been back twice for repeat batches, which we take as a reasonable sign that the cards and the tracking system are doing their job. As with several of our client projects, we’ve used placeholder photos and text here to protect the identity of individual staff members, so the images shown reflect the type of work carried out rather than the actual cards issued. The client, Renewable and Electrical Installers In the UK, continues to use us for their ongoing ID requirements as their team grows.
