Longtown ID cards
ID for England’s biggest sheep markets
Longtown, on the River Esk about twelve miles north of Carlisle and just south of the Scottish border, is home to the largest sheep markets in England. The market’s reach is huge: in 2001 the first animal in the foot-and-mouth crisis had passed through Longtown, and the town became a control centre for south-west Scotland and north-west England.
A busy livestock market involves auctioneers, clerks, pen and yard staff, drovers, vets, hauliers, buyers and sellers. Biosecurity and animal welfare mean managers need to know exactly who is on site, and buyers need registered cards to bid.
We print staff ID with photos and roles, numbered buyer and seller cards, and haulier ID showing the transport firm. Cards can be colour-coded for staff, buyers, hauliers and visitors.
Every card is printed in full colour on both sides, so the back can carry biosecurity rules, a market office number or a lost-card return address.
Defence contractor ID
Longtown is also home to one of the largest defence munitions sites in Western Europe. Site passes are issued by the MOD; we print the company ID that contractors and suppliers wear alongside them.

Carer ID in Longtown and the border villages
Care agencies visit residents in Longtown, Arthuret, Kirklinton, Westlinton and the farms towards the border.
We print carer cards with a large photo and the carer’s name and agency in bold, and a contact number on the back so families can confirm visits.
We keep your design on file, so new carers’ cards are quick to reorder, with next day delivery.
Front and back
Front and back are both printed in full colour. Markets often print biosecurity rules on the back, and hauliers add a transport office number.

Cards for a busy market day
On sale day, the office needs to see who is buying, selling and working.
We use a colour for staff, buyers, hauliers and visitors, a large number on buyer cards and a photo on staff ID.
Send your logo or an existing card and we’ll prepare a proof. Approved designs stay on file for new registrations.
